Which? Best Buy Broadband

Which? Best Buy Broadband March 2008

For the third year running Zen Internet has been awarded 'Which? Best Buy' for its broadband service.

The March 2008 Best Buy revealed five stars for Zen Internet's customer service and support. The survey was conducted in November 2007 and was based on results gained from members of an online Which? panel and Computing Which?.

The customer satisfaction score (as a percentage) is based on overall satisfaction and their likelihood to recommend the ISP to a friend.

Please be aware that there are very strict guidelines with regards using the logo. We would therefore be grateful if you would contact the Partner team if you wish to use it.

Zen Internet has Moved to New Headquarters

Zen Internet Headquarters

Zen Internet's move to a prestigious new headquarters has completed.

All our employees are now working at Sandbrook Park, Rochdale and are no longer spread across three sites.

What does this mean for our customers?

This investment secures Zen's long term future and demonstrates our commitment to remain independent and provide excellent service and support. We can deal effectively with your enquiries which involve departments that were previously spread across three sites.

We are planning to use this impressive new location as an additional point of presence in our highly resilient network. It also has a purpose built data centre with potential space for colocation of customer equipment and expansion of our managed hosting services.

Room for Expansion

We have room for over 1000 employees at the new building and can continue to expand as a business.

"When I set the company up in 1995 there were just 4 of us, today Zen employs over 290 staff and this additional 150,000 sq ft of high quality office provides a clear path for the continued growth of the company," said Richard Tang, Managing Director, Zen Internet.

"Zen's new headquarters will enable us to continue to develop Internet services that focus on quality, reliability and service." added Richard.

An Award Winning Commitment

Our commitment will always be to provide the best ISP service in the UK. In March we were proud to be awarded the Which? Best Buy for Broadband and our hard work will go into maintaining that award winning reputation.

Why Sandbrook Park?

This was an ideal building in terms of space, with close access to major motorway and transport networks in the North West.

"By moving to Sandbrook Park, Zen Internet is demonstrating its commitment to remain in Rochdale, the town where it was founded," said Richard.

Our new address is:

Sunday Times Awards Four Stars to Zen Internet

Zen Internet gained a fantastic four stars in a recent Sunday Times survey into broadband providers.

We were described as a 'minimalist marvel with excellent support' providing an 'efficient, no-frills service that earned top marks for customer service, (UK-based) technical support and reliability.'

Only two other providers made the four out of five star grade (the highest rating that was awarded) in this survey, which polled subscribers to Computing Which?.

Zen scored satisfaction ratings of over 80% for customer service, reliability of connection, along with online and telephone technical support.

Richard Tang, Managing Director of Zen Internet commented on this accolade; "To be so highly rated in a Sunday Times survey for the second year in a row is a brilliant achievement for us. It is great to see that our aim to develop Internet services that focus on quality, reliability and service, is successfully reflected in customer opinions."

Inclarity eases the pain of buying Telephony for small businesses

Inclarity Ltd

Gold Partner Inclarity Ltd recently launched a new online ordering Web site specifically for small businesses - ‘VoIP in a Box’. The easy-to-use five-step ordering process will enable small business owners to switch to a hosted voice-over Internet protocol (VoIP) telephony solution in as little as five days.

The tool is aimed at companies with between two and ten employees who want to set up and manage their telephone system fast, effortlessly and at a low cost. By simply logging on to Inclarity’s online ordering Web site, users can choose from a selection of handsets and packages to best suit their needs for a contract period of either 12, 24 or 36 months. Handsets can be delivered within days and the software is pre-installed making it easy to set up.

A hosted voice solution can benefit small and start-up companies because of its significant cost savings and advanced features which support flexible working. Phones can be easily directed to a mobile or home phone allowing employees to work remotely. The hosted nature of the solution means that more phones and applications can be added with ease should the company expand. Existing telephone numbers can be ported from an old phone system and a 24-hour helpdesk is on hand.

As a hosted voice service, fast, reliable Internet access is an intrinsic component of the solution, so it comes as no surprise to see that our award-winning broadband services are included as standard with the majority of Inclarity’s "VoIP in a Box" business plans, and Inclarity will only guarantee service quality to customers using one of our broadband lines.

“The caliber of the broadband connection is crucial to the quality of phone calls in the hosted telephony business. Through its partnership with Zen, Inclarity can offer its customers one of the most assured and available broadband connections in the UK today. We already have a robust and scaleable hosted VoIP system, and Zen will only add to our network strength.” said Dave Millett, Operations Director for Inclarity.

New Look Zen Partner Web site

www.zen.co.uk/partner

We are pleased to unveil a brand new look for the Zen Partner Web site: www.zen.co.uk/partner

The new look marks the first stage in a number of planned further developments to improve the look and functionality of the Web site. Initially we have introduced new content for the ‘public facing’ Web site, which gives prospective partners new information about what the programme can offer them.

The new site also coincides with the launch of the Zen Affiliate Programme, which adds a further option for organisations wishing to recommend a limited range of Zen’s services on a one-off referral basis.

You will notice that the ‘logged in’ version of the Web site, more commonly referred to as the Partner portal, remains in its current format. Plans are afoot however to incorporate the new Web site branding to the portal in a future development phase. In line with Zen’s commitment to making continual improvements, further enhancements and updates will be launched over the coming weeks and months.

If anyone has any comments, feedback or suggestions about the new Web site, please contact your account manager or the Partner team on 0845 058 9080, or send an e-mail to partner@zen.co.uk.

One of our guys gave Zen 10 out of 10 for their technical training - well-delivered material, well-paced, and the Zen technical staff took the time to answer every question they were asked. Keep up the good work!”

Maximise your potential as a Zen Partner

Partners in Training

One of the ways we provide support to our Partners within the programme is to provide free training, product events and seminars.

The training sessions are designed by our in-house trainer, utilising the skills within the various divisions of Zen to ensure that you, as a Partner, get the most benefit possible from the partnership.

Here are some of the events held over the past quarter at Zen Headquarters, London and Edinburgh:

- Selling Zen Broadband - DSL Initial Diagnostics
- Zen Partner Induction - Managed Hosting Product Seminar
- Products & Services Overview Seminar - Zen Online Data Backup Launch seminar

Further sessions are available in the coming months including:

Thursday 29th May- DSL Initial Diagnostics NEW Zen Headquarters, Sandbrook Park, Rochdale

Tuesday 3rd June - DSL Initial Diagnostics Regus Euston, London

Wednesday 4th June - Products & Services overview Regus Euston, London

(Please note if you would like to access the booking forms you will need to be logged in)

Technical Training:

The technical support training 'DSL Initial Diagnostics', has been found to be invaluable by many of our Partners. This training session gives you:

- A more in-depth overview of the technical support procedure
- What diagnostics are required for each type of fault
- The best way to carry out those diagnostics
- WHY they need to be carried out

Michael Crabtree from Gold Partner Tellmachus, commented on the event he attended recently:

Do you feel that the training has improved your diagnostics and fault raising process? The course was invaluable. I am now able to understand how Broadband systems work, and what the data from diagnostic tools mean!

How have you changed the way you do things? Yes. Having a set structure to diagnostics makes life easier, and gives our clients more confidence!

Have you had any faults/problems with a DSL connection since attending the training, if so do you think you were able to deal with the fault more effectively/efficiently? No actual failures, but I am able to look at the data from existing systems, and give some constructive ideas on how to improve the quality and lower any downtime on their Broadband connections.

Future training sessions can be viewed on Zen’s Events calendar:

http://www.zenpartner.com/userdocs/zenpartner-training-calendar.html
(again you will need to be logged in)

Online Training:

If you are unable to attend any of the training events provided by Zen, Online Webinars are available to ensure you receive information you may require. The Webinars are simple to run and no installation of software is needed. All that is required is an internet connection, a headset or access to a phone. As the webinars can be run on a one-one basis, they can also be tailored to fit your specific needs i.e. if there is a particular product you are interested in finding more about without leaving your desk.

See example agenda to see what can be covered.

If you would like to book on one of these webinars reserve your place through the partner portal.

For any training suggestions, ideas or comments please email: training@zenpartner.com or gill.cummings@zeninternet.co.uk.

Pennine Telecom gives Chill Factore a lift to surf on the slopes

Pennine Telecom

Platinum Partner Pennine Telecom has installed a wireless network in the new Chill Factore indoor ski village at Trafford, Manchester.

Wireless technology is often found in coffee shops and offices, but a recent contract by Pennine Telecom now enables staff to use their laptops anywhere in the complex and allows them to check lift passes and take drink orders remotely. Guests in the conference rooms and bars also have free WiFi access.

The Chill Factore, Manchester

Pennine installed two outdoor stations which have to operate in temperatures of minus 10 degrees and three indoor stations.

“It was an interesting installation,” said Ian Taylor of Pennine Telecom. “The units in the cold zone are completely covered in ice and are capable of working in temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees. The great advantage is that no wiring is necessary. All the units need is power as everything else is done through WiFi.”

Chill Factore is providing a magnet for companies who are using the conference and meeting facilities then entertaining their guests or staff on the slopes. The fact that there is free internet access is an added bonus thanks to the installation from Pennine Telecom.

Keep up the good work!

The Partner Programme team would like to say congratulations to those Partners who have moved up levels in the programme this quarter, meaning an increase in the resources available to them and a move towards a more strategic commitment.
