The last month has seen some massive changes to the products and services on offer here at Zen. Keep on reading to find out more …
Zen recently announced its new product range following the success of its participation in the BT Wholesale Max DSL trial. The latest Zen range includes two new Broadband packages that will enable customers to get the most out of their broadband connections.
The new packages – Zen 8000 Active & Zen 8000 Pro - were developed following careful assessment of our customers’ needs and will replace the Home 500, 1000 and 2000 products, and also meet the growing needs of home workers and small businesses by offering excellent Broadband services.
Participation in the BT trial revealed that offering an uncapped service at speeds of up to 8Mbps would not be commercially viable for any ISP. With the recognition that 80% of our residential and small business customers download less than 20GB per month, we decided to place a usage allowance on the new services.
Zen 8000 Active has a 20GB limit, ideal for small businesses linking up to 5 PCs to a single Broadband connection, as well as for average to large residential use. Zen 8000 Pro has a 50GB limit, perfect for small businesses connecting up to 10 PCs to the one Broadband connection, and also for heavy residential use. By setting such generous usage allowances Zen is able to accommodate growing bandwidth usage of customers and still accommodate for heavy users. Existing Zen customers have the choice of either staying with their current 500 / 1000 / 2000 unlimited service or taking advantage of a FREE upgrade to one of the new services! BT plan to begin upgrading exchanges to Max DSL from March 31st and, once your exchange is Max DSL enabled, you will find that you will achieve line download speeds of up to 8Mbps, as well as increased upload speeds, on these new services.
Our Home 250 product remains available and will stay unlimited, as it has proved an extremely popular entry level product. ZenADSL Office products will also remain the same to meet business needs.
Iain Johnstone Sales and Partner Programme Manager at Zen stated:
“These new products give us a stronger product portfolio to meet existing and new market opportunities and enhance the services we can offer our customers. Our goal remains the same and that is to provide the best ISP service in the UK. Zen 8000 Active and Pro will be supported by the same UK based, award winning services that all Zen customers enjoy”.

The Internet security market is forecast to show strong growth over the next few years driven by the continuing growth and complexity of Internet threats and the availability of new Unified Threat Management (UTM) firewalls. UTM firewalls offer complete protection against a wide range of damaging Internet threats and are quickly becoming the security device of choice for UK businesses.
The Zen product development team have spent the last 6 months reviewing potential UTM firewall vendors and developing a comprehensive Managed Security service. With an attractive commission structure in place, and the opportunity for recurring revenue-streams, these new managed firewall solutions represent an exciting opportunity for our Partners.
