Companies looking to upgrade their connectivity will now have greater opportunities to do so following a recent Ofcom ruling. The ruling has forced BT to re-structure their product set leading to the removal of the LES (LAN Extension Service) product.
How can customers benefit?
The LES product was a premium priced product with a premium SLA, however, there was very little difference, if any, technically between a LES and a WES. The only discernable differences were the SLA and the price. Following the ruling, customers can now benefit from more competitive WES pricing whilst still receiving a premium SLA.
For existing ZenDirect Ethernet customers, there has been on average a reduction of perhaps 20-30% in pricing upon renewal of contracts. All existing customers now also benefit from a premium 100% SLA with their ZenDirect Ethernet product.
